PURPOSE:To provide a simple and reliable manufacturing method, by providing electric insulator bands on the wound portion of a separation plate to prevent the short circuit of electrode plates. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode plate 2 and a negative electrode plate 3 are vortically wound together with a separation plate 1. Electric insulator bands 8 are bonded on both the sides of the separation plate near the center of the wound portion of the positive electrode plate so that the bands prevent the separation plate from being damaged by the front edges of the positive and the negative electrode plates. In a method of manufacturing a vortical electrode 9, the separation plate 1 sent out of a separation plate roll 6 is first entered into a winding shaft 4. When the plate 1 is wound by a prescribed length on the shaft 4, the bands 8 are sent out of band rolls 11 so that the bands are bonded on both the sides of the plate 1 by push rollers 12 and moved through the shaft 4. At that time, the positive and the negative electrode plates 2, 3 are inserted from both the sides of the shaft 4. The vortical electrode 9 is thus manufactured. The method is simple and so reliable that the ratio of defects of the vortical electrodes during their manufacturing and use is low. |
