The assembly comprises an electrically driven fan in a housing, with one air flow aperture facing the room, and one facing away from it. The depth of the housing in direction of the fan impeller axis is smaller than the width of conventional door or window frame profiles, as in 3432457. The air flow aperture (131), facing the room, is selectively opened and closed by a rotary flap valve (130). The latter is formed as a flat plate, and has transverse segements (142) at both wide sides. It is pref. located in a semicircular recess (128, 137, 140). ADVANTAGE - Low-cost subsequent fitting.
