PURPOSE:To recognize easily an image pickup direction even at the position far from an image pickup part and to permit a camera to be visible a broad range of a field by providing detecting means to detect the image pickup direction with an image pickup device and also providing a display device so that a monitor of its detecting direction may be confirmed. CONSTITUTION:The image pickup direction of a camera is controlled by a button operation of an operation device 14 and only a light sensor 10 among light sensors 9, 10 and 11 detects a presence of a reflector 7 when its image pickup direction faces toward the direction of a center A. At this time, a display state of a displaying part 14-a is, as shown in Fig., that the camera faces the center. And when the image pickup direction comes at the right-middle (between A and B), as a result of the rotation of the camera caused by driving a motor 3, the light sensors 9 and 10 detect the presence of the reflector 7 and the display part 14-a is displayed as shown in Fig. Thus the display of each point makes it possible to judge to which direction the image pickup direction is facing. In addition, an increment of detecting elements facilitates the display of further detailed states of the image pickup direction.
