PURPOSE:To provide a diazo type thermal recording body having a recording layer generating no yellowing due to photooxidizing reaction and showing sufficient black color developability, by providing a thermal recording layer containing a diazonium compound, a specific coupler compound and a compound showing basicity at the time of heating to a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer containing at least a diazonium compound, a coupler compound represented by general formulae [I], [II] (wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, X, Y and Z are respectively a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or a phenyl group) and a compound showing basicity at the time of heating is provided to a support. The coupler compound represented by the formula [II] (wherein X, Y and Z are respectively a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a 1-4C alkyl group, a 1-4C alkoxy group or a phenyl group) especially generates no yellowing of the recording layer in the combination of the coupler compound represented by the general formula [I] and a thermal recording body excellent in black color formability is obtained. |
