PURPOSE:To prevent breaking of a connecting wire and deformation of a supporting rod, by raising the substrate surface embedded in the supporting rod by shaping the cross section of the substrate concave and shortening the length of the supporting rod located inside a vacuum chamber. CONSTITUTION:For shortening the length of the supporting rod, the cross section of the substrate is shaped concave and embedded for raising the height of the substrate. For instance a copper substrate 11 is used and a cooling element 12 is contacted upon it and on its top surface an infrared detecting element 13 is contacted. Outgoing terminal 14 from the infrared and supporting rod is are connected with a bonding wire 16 and the supporting rod is led through the substrate 11 and drawn out of a vacuum chamber 18 sealed with hermetic sealer 17.
