The push-button switch device consists of a sheet-metal layer (1) having a spring characteristic, in which a plurality of domed subsections (2) are formed and which has means (10, 10', 11, 11', 12, 12') for overcoming or absorbing the damaging effect on the edge regions between the individual switch elements of the forces which are caused by pressure on the domed sections (2). The means which are used for absorbing the undesirable force influences consist of first slots (10, 10'), which are provided in the edge region of the respective domed sections (2), and of a further group of slots (11, 11' and 12, 12' respectively) on the domed subsection itself. Apart from the absorption of the undesirable force influences, setting of the switching pressure force to be applied can be achieved, and any mutual influence between the individual switch elements can be avoided, by expedient selection of the size, shape and arrangement of the slots. <IMAGE>
