PURPOSE:To provide the inexpensive method for drawing up the plural numbers of the optical fibers in a line and then, surely fixing it on a substrate for a short period by melting a low melting point metal with a laser ray. CONSTITUTION:The plural parallel grooves 2 are formed approaching each other on the upper surface of the semiconductor substrate 1 composed of Si in the same way to a well-known producing step. And then, the metal layer 3 composed of Au and having a few thousands Angstrom in thickness is vapor-deposited on an inner wall of the groove 2, and the low melting point metal 4 such as a solder is filled in a bottom of the grooves 2. A metalized film 6 is preformed on a circumferential surface of the optical fiber 5 in a semicircular form. The metalized film 6 is vapor-deposited with the metal Cr followed by vapor- depositing the metal Au on the surface of the metal Cr. The optical fiber 5 is inserted and drawn up in the line in the groove 2 so as to contact the metallized film 6 with the low melting metal 4, and then a tarnsparent plate such as a glass plate is covered on the grooves followed by irradiating the laser ray to the low melting point metal 4 from an upperwardly to melt the metal 4, and then, to fix the optical fiber 5 into the groove 2.
