PURPOSE:To attain the operation of personal computers different in type by storing all programs of an operating system which can perform operation into a floppy disk medium serving as a system file, and selecting the program of the desired one of plural operating systems. CONSTITUTION:When an operating system OS1 is active, an operator supplies the change information to an operating system OS2 through a keyboard 17. Thus the OS type change command signal 20 within a system control circuit 8 is supplied to a state change detecting circuit 3 with actuation of a system common control BIOS program. Thus the circuit 3 outputs the address switching command signal 22 to an address conversion circuit 5 and the system initialization signal 21 to a CPU control circuit 2 respectively. Then an FD device 16 containing a floppy disk medium is actuated via an FDD controller 12 which actuation of a system rise IPL program corresponding to the system OS2. Thus the program of the OS2 is stored in a main storage 7 and the system OS type is actuated.
