PURPOSE:To enable the forging of a special steel in short time without causing a crack while forging by giving simultaneously the forging force in the upper and lower directions with the upper and lower taps and the forging force being from the slant upper part with the right and left taps. CONSTITUTION:A forging force is applied on a blank A with the upper and lower taps 5, 6 or right and left taps 7, 8 from the upper and lower and slant upper part with the descent of a wedge form 1 when a pressing force or impact force is given to the wedge form 1 by the ram 15 of a press machine. In his case the pressure medium inside the cylinder 11, 12 energizing to the upper part the slant leg parts 3, 4 of the wedge form 1 and the pressure medium inside the guide hole 9a, 10a forming the cylinder and having downward inclination are exhausted. And according to the descent of the wedge form 1 and upper tap 5, the right and left taps 7, 8 being fitted to the tip of the drum metal 7b, 8b constituting the piston for said cylinder project to the blank A. The wedge form 1 and right and left tap 7, 8 return then with the flowing in of the pressure medium when the pressing force or impact force is removed.
