PURPOSE:To reduce the powder consumption when a magnetic disk is started and to reduce the load of the electric power facilities of a remote starting system for magnetic disk, by shifting the remote starting timings from each other by means of each magnetic disk controller and by the simple sequence control. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic disk controllers 40-0-40-3 are connected to a system bus 10 and the magnetic disk devices DKOO-31 having remote start lines 30-0-30-3 are connected independently to the controllers 40-0-40-3 respectively. The 1st register REG1 of each disk controller shows the starting order of the disk devices allocated in the system connection mode. While the 2nd register REG2 shown the number of disks which are connected to the disk controller having higher starting order by a place. Furthermore the 3rd register REG3 shows the start processing time of the disks. An arithmetic circuit CPU perform the arithmetic operation among the contents of registers REG1-3 with each other. Then a remote starting action is carried out when the coincidence is secured between the value of a timer TM which works with the start of a system and the arithmetic result.
