PURPOSE:To suppress variation in optical path length due to temperature change, etc. by providing a buffer layer which covers an optical fiber element wire made of quartz coated with a coating layer, etc., in a snaking state and a protection layer which covers said coating layer. CONSTITUTION:The outer periphery of the optical fiber element wire 1 made of quartz, etc., is covered with the coating layer 2 made of silicone resin. It is further coated with the buffer layer 3 made of silicone resin, etc., and the coated optical fiber element wire 1 is inserted into the buffer layer 3 in a snaking state. The buffer layer 3 is further covered with the protection layer 4 made of a material with a large Young's modulus like nylon. When this optical fiber is exposed to an environmental change of temperature, etc., the protection layer 4 of the nylon with the large Young's modulus shrinks to generate a force, but the fiber element wire is not affected unless the fiber element wire 1 is compressed or expanded extremely.
