PURPOSE:To obtain interpolating pulses for describing an optional elliptic locus by combiningn linear and circular interpolating circuits. CONSTITUTION:Interpolating data of a circular arc having a radius (a) (the center of the circle, the start point, and the end point) is set to an interpolating circuit 12, and interpolating data of an arc having a radius (b) is set to an interpolating circuit 13. With respect to 4 outputs of interpolating circuits 12 and 13, an X-axis component X=acostheta is taken out from the interpolating circuit 12 and a Y=axis component Y=bsintheta is taken out from the interpolating circuit 13. A control pulse is obtained from these two outputs to drive a pulse motor, and an elliptic locus which intersects the X axis at points (+ or -a, 0) and intersects the Y axis at points (+ or -b, 0) is obtained.
