PURPOSE:To improve reducibility as well as the index of expansion by reduction of a calcined briquette ore by blending iron-ore fines having a specific porosity with iron-ore fines in manufacturing a calcined briquette ore used as raw material for iron manufacture for use in a blast furnace and a shaft kiln. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing the calcined briquette ore used as raw material for iron manufacture in the blast furnace and the shaft kiln for direct iron- making, the iron-ore fines having 5-30% average porosity are blended by >=5wt% with the iron-ore fines as raw material and further, as binder, Ca(OH)2 or bentonite is mixed with the above by 1-1.5%. The mixture is pelletized and then calcined at about 1,280 deg.C into pellets. In this way, the calcined briquette ore improved in reducibility as well as the index of expansion by reduction (a bulging index) in furnace can be obtained.
