PURPOSE:To manufacture a cladding pipe of a Zr alloy having superior corrosion resistance by forming a specified cold worked layer on the outer surface of a cladding pipe after final annealing. CONSTITUTION:A Zr alloy having a prescribed composition is subjected to beta-forging, alpha-forging, hot working and cold working to form a cladding pipe. After the final annealing of the pipe is finished, a cold worked layer of >=0.6mum thickness is formed on the outer surface of the pipe and polished to regulate the surface roughness to <=6.5S (JISB0601). Thus, a cladding pipe of a Zr alloy having superior corrosion resistance is obtd. without deteriorating the dimensional accuracy or ductility.
