MINUTE SPHERICAL RESIN COMPOSITION AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide a composition composed of a resol resin and an epoxy resin, having a specific particle diameter, curable rapidly by heating to give a coating film having high adhesivity and excellent impact-resistance and chemical resistance and producible at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A composition composed of a resol resin and an epoxy resin and having spherical form with particle diameter of <=500mum. The ratio of the epoxy resin in the composition is 40-200wt% based on the phenol constituting the resol resin. The softening point of the epoxy resin is 50-140 deg.C. The composition can be produced by reacting a phenolic compound with an aldehyde in water in the presence of an emulsion stabilizer, 40-200wt% epoxy resin (based on the phenolic compound) and a basic catalyst.
