PURPOSE:To enable uniform printing, by a construction wherein a thin stepped part is provided at opposed tip parts of paired conductor electrodes provided on a substrate, with a predetermined spacing between the electrodes, a heating resistor is provided over the stepped part, and the surface thereof is made substantially flat. CONSTITUTION:A single common electrode 5 (conductor electrodes) and a plurality of individual electrodes 6 (conductor electrodes) paired with the electrode 5 have a thickness Y of about 3mum, and the thin stepped parts 5a, 6a are provided at the tip parts so that they protrude from the upper surface of the substrate 2 by a smaller amount. The heating resistor 3 is provided astride the stepped parts 5a, 6a of the electrodes, with at least a minute gap Z between the resistor 3 and each of the stepped parts 5b, 6b. The surface 3a of the resistor 3 is made to be substantially flat form one end to the other, and is covered by a protective film 7. When a voltage is impressed between the electrodes 5, 6 to pass an electric current through the resistor 3, heat is generated. At this moment, the surface 3a of the resistor 3 is brought into contact with a thermal recording paper over substantially the entire surface thereof. |
