PURPOSE:To provide a coil unit having end faces of coil strands coated effectively, coating the end faces of the coil strands with insulating coatings for the coil strands. CONSTITUTION:End faces of coil strands 1 are coated with insulating coatings 26 for the coil strands 1. That is, conductive material at the end section of each coil strand is removed with the insulating coating 26 left at the end of the coil strand, so that the insulating coating 26 can be extruded from the end face of the conductive material. Unnecessary portions of the insulating coating 26 are cut away with portions having a given width left, and the left portions are overlapped on the end faces of conductive material to coat them. In order to remove the conductive material at the ends with the insulating coatings 26 left at the ends of the coil strands 1, for example, the end face of the coil unit is immersed in etchant and removed by electrolytic polishing. The process in which the left portions of the insulating coatings 26 are overlapeed on the end faces of conductive material can be attained by folding the left portions onto the end faces having adhesive coated. |
