PURPOSE:To provide a user friendly cooking device having excellent reliability, by providing a control means, which stops cooking when cooking time data corresponding to a cooking time '0' is inputted at the time of cooking. CONSTITUTION:A DC voltage V is applied to a sliding resistor 50, which outputs a signal at a level corresponding to the operating position of a cooking-time setting knob. An AD converter 11 converts a voltage at the sliding terminal of the sliding resistor 50 into a digital signal based on a reference voltage Vref from a reference voltage generating circuit 12. The digital signal is supplied to a control part 13 as cooking time data. When the user returns the cooking-time setting knob to a '0' position, the cooking-time data corresponding to the cooking time '0' is inputted to the control part 13. The control part 13 immediately turns OFF a control switch 16 regardless of the counted value of the time, and the cooking can be stopped.
