PURPOSE:To speed up the retrieval of mass spectra and to make possible the online retrieval in real time by fetching data base without accessing a magnetic disk and other low-speed auxiliary memories. CONSTITUTION:A large-capacity magnetic tape 7, magnetic disk 8, CRT display 5 and console 6 are connected to a host system unit 4 of a mass spectrometric analysis system. The spectral data base of the comp. and compd. group selected by an operator from the mass spectral data base stored on the tape 7 and the disk 8 is transferred to an LIB unit 3. The master data base is received from an ACQ unit 2 and is stored on the disk 7 at the start of the measurement; at the same time the retrieval result of the mass spectral interlocked to the unit 2 is received from the unit 3 and is stored onto the disk 8. The mass spectral retrieval is thus speeded up and the retrieval is made online in real time.
