PURPOSE:To enable the start of an engine independent of a main battery condition by providing a battery exclusively used for ignition, in addition to a main battery, in an all-transistorized ignition device. CONSTITUTION:The output terminal of a rectifier 2 is connected with a series load comprising a battery 10 exclusively used for ignition, a fuse 11 and a diode 12, in series with a main battery 6. The positive electrode of said battery 10 is connected with an igniter unit 14 and an ignition coil 15 via a main switch 13 for an ignition system. Said battery 10 as connected to the diode 12 in series, does not discharge positively, except for a power supply to the igniter unit 14 and the ignition coil 15. Therefore, even if the voltage of the main battery 6 has dropped due to the excessive use of a d.c. load, said battery 10 always has necessary potential for ignition.
