PURPOSE:To obtain a device using activated sludge capable of shortening operation time having small volume but high durability by separating discharged water from a sludge tank into activated sludge and treated water through a ceramic filter. CONSTITUTION:Waste water is introduced into a sludge tank 11 and subjected to activated sludge treatment, then the discharged water from the sludge tank 11 is separated into activated sludge and treated water in an activated sludge treating device, where discharged water from the sludge tank 11 is passed through a ceramic filter 14 and separated into activated sludge and treated water. By using the above-described activated sludge treating apparatus, the time required for gravitational settling as required in a settling basing is saved, so large volume of the apparatus is necessary no more. Moreover, the durability of the apparatus is high, because the ceramic filter can be used repeatedly over and over again unlike conventional polymer membrane since cleaning operation of the filter or scraping off of deposited matters are facilitated. |
