<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a resistance change curve with information much in a short time, by holding the number of pulse of an electric signal to be applied to a heat generating resistor at each power step and the power step to increase the power within a specified range. CONSTITUTION:An electrical signal for increasing the power at a fixed power step is applied to a heat generating resistor 25 intermittently in sequence at each power step and changes in the resistance of the heat generating resistor 25 from the initial resistance value thereof are measured at each step to perform a step stress test for a thermal head 24. Then, the number of pulse of the electrical signal applied at each power step is held within 1 - about 100 while the power step for increasing the power is held within the range of 1/100-1/10 of the printing power for each power step. The setting of such a test condition enables a resistance changes curve providing the rate of change in the resistance with respect to variations in the power in a short time while the resistance changes curve containing much necessary information can be obtained.</p> |
