PURPOSE:A treating and preventing agent for peptics ulcer, containing a specific cyclohexane derivative derived from a water-soluble fraction originating from cinnamon as an active constituent and having treating and preventing effect even on stress ulcer and serotonin ulcer with low toxicity. CONSTITUTION:A treating and perventing agent for peptics ulcer containing a cyclohexane derivative expressed by formula I (R is alkyl; R<1> and R<2> are H or organic residue) as an active constituent. The compound expressed by formula I can be obtained by hydrolyzing a compound expressed by formula II prepared by fractionation from a water-soluble fraction originating from cinnamon, and forming a derivative from the resultant compound expressed by formula III by the conventional method. The compound expressed by formula I has excellent preventing and treating effect on serotonin ulcer, stress ulcer, ethanol ulcer, etc. The dose thereof is preferably 0.1-1.5mg.
