PURPOSE:To enable quick and accurate assay, by a method wherein an aqueous solution and a suspension of cobalt, potassium and ferric oxide are dropped to make a sample polluted cloth to be subjected to a fluorescent X ray analysis with a sample holder having an acrylic resin-made platform. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution in which a cobalt nitrate (b) water salt and a potassium chloride as pollutant component are dissolved separately into a distilled water is dropped on the entire surface of a sample cloth material to make a sample cloth 3. A specified amount of a suspension of powdery ferric oxide is dropped from an upper filter tube 1 and attached quickly to the sample cloth 5 by depressing an absorption bottle 7 to make a sample cloth 11. Then, the sample cloth 11 is arranged on a sample holder having the acrylic resin-made platform 12 and X rays are irradiated from above to measure the intensity of fluorescent X rays generated from the sample 11 thereby directly assaying the amount of pollutant components in the sample cloth 11. This enables quick, accurate and stable assay without breaking the sample cloth. |
