PURPOSE:To remove P by repeating anaerobic treatment and aerobic treatment successively using pellets comprising high molecular gel contg. microorganism having P-intaking capacity immobilized by entrapping, and taking out a portion of aerobically treated pellets and liberating P under anaerobic condition. CONSTITUTION:P-contg. org. waste water 20 is treated anaerobically in a tank 22 using immobilized microorganism prepd. by entrapping microorganism 24 having P-intaking capacity in high molecular gel, then treating aerobically in a tank 26 with the same immobilized microorganism 24. A part of the immobilized microorganism 24 used in the aerobic treatment is taken out, and the rest of the immobilized microorganism is used circulatorily for the above- described anaerobic treatment and succeeding aerobic treatment. Further, the immobilized microorganism which has been taken out as described above is charged to a tank 42 under anaerobic condition, and P is liberated from the immobilized microorganism, which is then used as the immobilized microorganism for the above described aerobic treatment. At the same time, the waste water contg. the aboved described liberated P is subjected to physico-chemical treatment in a tank 48 to remove P from the waste liquid.
