PURPOSE:To expand a display area of the titled element, and to make difficult to cover the leader electrode with a sealing material, and also to make the same size of a sealing substrate to that of the substrate, thereby facilitating a working of positioning of the sealing substrate by providing the leader electrode on the end surface of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:The ITO electrode layer is formed on an upper surface of the substrates by providing the sealing electrode G composed of a glass and having the same size to that of the glass substrate S. Then, the electrode layer is formed on both the upper surface and the end surface of the substrate S by a turn-round phenomenon, thereby isolating the leader electrode 7 of for the upper electrode A and the lower electrode B each other. And then, an iridium oxide layer E, a tantalum oxide layer D, and a WO3 layer C are laminated in order on the electrode layer, and finally, an Al layer is vapor-deposited on the electrode layer to form the electrode A which is contacted with the leader electrode already formed on the substrate S. And then, the upper surface of the substrate A is sealed with the sealing material R followed by adhering the substrate G to the substrate A to complete the sealing thereof. Thus, the substrates G and S have the same size, thereby enabling to facilitate the positionings of the substrates and remove the coverage of the leader electrode with the sealing material R.
