PURPOSE:To remove fluorine in waste water even in the copresence of a reducing substance by maintaining oxidation-reduction potential at above a specified value by adding ferric salt, then adding an alkaline agent to form precipitate at near a neutral condition of the waste water. CONSTITUTION:A Ca salt is added to waste water contg. a reducing substance such as hydrazine, POCl3, etc. and fluorine under below 4 pH, then ferric salt is added to adjust the oxidation-reduction potential to a specified value above 450mV. Then, precipitate is formed at near neutral condition by adding an alkaline agent. By this method, fluorine contained in waste water is removed effectively even if a reducing substance is contained in fluorine-contg. waste water.
