PURPOSE:To remove a flare component and correct the emphasis of an outline in parallel by correcting vertically and horizontally by a low band passing type FIR filter and subtracting from a digital video signal to obtain a corrected signal of high band passing characteristic. CONSTITUTION:The digital video signal is vertically corrected by the vertical correcting FIR filter 21 and further horizontally corrected by the horizontal correcting FIR filter 23 and added to a subtracter 26 as a corrected signal 24 of a low band. The digital video signal input has a delay quantity merely corresponding to a phase delay by the filter groups of the corrected signal 24 applied by a compensating delay device 25 and is inputted to a subtracting circuit 26. In the subtracting circuit 26, from the delayed digital video signal, the corrected signal 24 is subtracted and its output 26a becomes the corrected signal of high band characteristic. This output 26a emphasizes a high band component and prevents an emphasis of noise making the corrected signal zero in the place in which the signal level is low through a core ring circuit 27.
