PURPOSE:To attain high speed access by providing a vibration absorbing body to a part of a head arm so as to reduce the vibration amplitude of an access device thereby positioning the head with high accuracy on a disc medium. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 1 provided with a shaft hole 2 fitted to a fixed shaft, plural head arms 3 holding a magnetic head 4 respectively at the side of each tip, and a moving coil 5 being a component of a drive actuator driving the carriage 1 in the direction of arrow A around the fixed shaft fitted to the shaft hole 2 are provided. Further, the vibrating absorbing body 12 is provided to a part of at least one arm 3b in the arm 3 so as to absorb and damp the vibration of the arm 3 resonated with the characteristic frequency of the carriage 1 and the moving coil 5 or the like being a main cause to the vibration. As to the vibration absorbing body 21, a composite member comprising a weight member 21a, a fixed member 21c and a rubber member 21b used a spring element and a damping element in common between them is used. |
