PURPOSE:To obtain a color photosensitive material superior in transferability of a yellow dye and good in its light fastness by incorporating a specified yellow dye image forming compound. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide color photosensitive material capable of forming a superior color image is obtained by incorporating the yellow dye image forming compound represented by formula I in which Dye is a yellow dye group represented by formula II or its precursor; X is a single bond or a bonding group; Y is a group capable of changing diffusivity of the dye component at the time of reaction with a photosensitive silver salt having a latent image in accordance or reverse accordance with it; R<1> are each CN or one of groups represented by formulae III-VI; R<11>, R<12> are each H or optionally substd. alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or a heterocyclic group, and both may form a ring; R<2> is an electron attractive group having a Hammett's para-sigma value of 0-+1.0; (n) is 1-4; when (n) is 2, 3, or 4, each of R<2> may be same or different; Dye and X combine with either of R<11> and R<2>; and (q) is 1 or 2, and when (q) is 2, each of Dye-X may be same or different.
