PURPOSE:To enable effective silver recovery by using a bed electrode for the cathode of an electrolytic cell for treating the processing solution of a silver halide photographic material contg. silver complex ions and desilvering it. CONSTITUTION:The electrolytic cell for use in a fludized bed electrolytic method is provided with a graphite electrode 1, the bed cathode 2, and an anod 3, each connected with a constant potential power supply 8. The cathode 2 has a cylindrical form provided with a bottom all made of a stainless steel, and lined with an insulating coat except for a part in a contact with fluidized particles and the terminal part. An exhausted bleach-fixing solution contg. silver complex ions for processing the silver halide photographic material is fed with a pump 7 from a storage tank 5 through a flowmeter 6 and allowed to rise in the cell to expand the particles and form a fluidized bed 4, and returned from the upper part of the cell to the tank 5, thus permitting silver deposited on the cathode 2 to be effectively recovered. |
