<p>Culture medium for growing a yeast capable of expressing a foreign gene prod. comprises balanced free amino acids at 20-160 g/l. The balanced free amino acids are pref. used at 110 g.l, and suitably casamino acids are used. The C source concn. in the medium is pref. kept above but as close to zero as possible. The medium is pref. satd. with O2 to at least 30% air saturation. The cultivation is oref. effected at about 25 Deg.C. With a low gluclose concn. and high O2 concn. formation of EtOH is minimised. Suitable Saccharomyces cerevisiae is used.</p> |
