PURPOSE:To simplify manufacture by applying a twist to the longitudinal direction of an optical fiber, engaging it with plural pins, and curving the optical fiber, so that it can be bent moderately in the directions of X and Y. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber core wires F1, F2 are fixed at end parts 0, 6, and also engaged with pins 1-5 by utilizing a projection. In this case, with respect to an advance direction of light, when it is seen on X and Y planes, a mode scrambler for drawing a curve so that an optical fiber is curved in the X and Y directions is constituted. When laser light goes into a clad layer, and a signal of this clad mode comes near to the mode scrambler, an angle of light which is made incident on a boundary surface of ''the clad layer - a quality of material M of the outside'' becomes various large and small angles, because the optical fiber B is curved. Also, the quality of material m has a higher refractive index than that of the clad layer, therefore, on the boundary surface, light of the clad layer of an incident angle which does not reach a critical angle transmits through the quality of material M, and light passing through the optical fiber becomes only a propagation mode. |
