PURPOSE:To enable a head to be exchanged in a narrow with, by providing conveying paths in the upper of a machining head parallelly with its longitudinally moving direction while lifting a multi spindle head between a front surface of the machining head and the conveying path to be slided and enabling the multi spindle head to be engaged and clamped. CONSTITUTION:A machining head 14, completing machining, retracts to a carry- out position 48, and is an engaging supporter of a lift device 52 lowers, a machine tool, releasing a clamping mechanism of the machining head 14, engages an engaging protrusion in a multi spindle head 30 with the before said supporter. Next the machine tool, lifting the lift device 52, lifts the multi spindle head 30 onto a conveying path 43 to be conveyed to the side of a conveying path 44 by a shaft bed 58. Next the machine too, retracting the machining head 14 to a carry-in position 47 and feeding a multi spindle head 30 for use to the carry-in position 47 to be lowered by engaging its engaging protrusion with an engaging supporter of a lift device 51, engages an engaging groove with the clamping mechanism of the machining head 14. Simultaneously, the machine too, disengaging the list device 51 to be lifted, completes machining preparation. |
