PURPOSE:To permit the easy drying of a metallic strip after washing by coating a water repellent material on both end faces of the strip in the transverse direction thereof and washing the strip while preventing the sticking of water to both end faces. CONSTITUTION:The water repellent material is coated to both end faces 10A, 10B in the transverse direction of the coiled metallic strip 10. Wax, silicone resin, fluoroplastic or the like is used for the water repellent material and is coated on the end faces by spraying, brushing, etc. The sticking of the water drops to the faces 10A, 10B during washing is thus prevented and the drying is only required for the top and bottom surfaces of the strip 10. |
