PURPOSE:To prevent a movable element of a motor from colliding with a cross guide due to the runaway of the motor by switching the current direction of a coil when the element passes the vicinity of the end of a movable range. CONSTITUTION:A linear motor 2 has a stator 3 in which a permanent magnet 32 is bonded to a yoke 31 made of a high magnetic permeability material, and a movable element 4 in which a coil 42 is wound on a bobbin 41 to be slidably engaged with the stator 3. A sensor 5 such as a near end sensor for detecting that the element 4 passes the vicinity of the end of the movable range is disposed, and a current direction to the coil 42 is switched by the detecting operation of the movable element of the sensor 5. Thus, it can prevent the element from colliding with a side yoke due to runaway. |
