MANUFACTURE OF FINE METALLIC PARTICLE

PURPOSE:To manufacture fine metallic particles in large quantities at a low cost by using an electrode coated with an insulating film having pinholes as a cathode and by carrying out electroplating in an electrolytic soln. contg. a metal to be electrowon to deposit fine particles of the desired metal on the cathode. CONSTITUTION:An electrolytic cell 9 is filled with an electrolytic soln. 10 contg. metal to be electrowon, and a cathode 4' coated with an insulating film having pinholes and an insoluble electrode as an anode 11 are immersed in the electrolytic soln. 10. Electric current is then supplied to the anode 11 and the cathode 4' from a DC power source 12 to deposit fine particles of the desired metal on the surface of the cathode 4'. The deposited fine metallic particles are recovered.
