PURPOSE:To automatize plural balancing works by leading one of the plural engaging parts of a balance ring concentric to a chuck body and a freely swiveling to make engaging lock with a engaging lock means making use of its inertia. CONSTITUTION:A receiving member 18 is fixed to a supporting ring 15 concentric to a chuck body 1 and one of engaging lock means A is formed. And a balance ring 4 having a balance weight and the plural engaging parts is formed to be concentric to the body 1 and swingably. When a work W is fixed to the body 1, and a projected portion 20 is inserted in a hollow part 21 of the receiving member 18 so as to push in a pin 31 against a spring 30, a working member 24 is moved back by a spring 29 to get in a work ready position. When the body 1 is started, a balancing ring 4 is delayed by its inertia and the working member 24 moves relatively. Furthermore, when a pushing piece 27 enters into a hollow part 11 of the engaging part 7 facing the engaging lock means A by a spring 28, a balanced condition corresponding to the work is obtained.
