PURPOSE:To make possible the stable and sure control of intermediate tensions in a wide range by adjusting the balance forces of work rolls according to the intermediate tensions of the sheet between the respective passes of a multi- passes rolling mill thereby adjusting the rolling forces of the respective passes. CONSTITUTION:Tension detectors 8, 9 consisting of load cells, etc. are provided to deflector rolls 6, 7 to detect the intermediate tensions t2, t3 of the sheet 5 between the passes of the multi-passes rolling mill for rolling the sheet 5 by putting the sheet in an S shape on the work rolls 1-4 and deflector rolls 6, 7 which are provided in multiple stages. The detected values are introduced into an arithmetic control unit 10 which calculates the values. The balance forces PB1-PB3 of the respective passes are adequately adjusted by balance cylinders 12-14 provided between the journal boxes 11 of the rolls 1-4 according to the results of the calculation, by which the rolling down forces P1-P3 of the respective passes are controlled and the tensions t2, t3 are stably controlled. |
