PURPOSE:To make it possible to control the stopping position of a hydraulic cylinder, with an insignificant error, by detecting the over-run quantity of the hydraulic cylinder, and outputting the next stop command at the time which is decided in consideration of said over-run quantity of the hydraulic cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Stroke of a hydraulic cylinder 13 is detected by a stroke sensor S3. The stroke at the time when a drive stop command is output to a drive circuit 16, and the stroke at the time when the variation of the stroke becomes zero after the output of the stop command, that is, the stroke at the time of stopping the motion of the hydraulic cylinder 13, are detected by said stroke sensor S3, and the difference between these stroke values is memorized as over- run quantity. In outputting the next stop command, the command is made to be output earlier, in consideration of said over-run quantity. In this way, the stopping position of the hydraulic cylinder can be controlled without generating the over-run.
