PURPOSE:To achieve a smaller size and a lighter weight with a higher measuring accuracy while being oriented to the direction of rotation radius, by detection of displacement in the rotation of a rotary plate based on the output signal of an output electrode varying with the rotation thereof. CONSTITUTION:To draw the voltage obtained by a receiving electrode 18 formed on a rotary plate 10 to the body side, a connection electrode 34 is provided on the opposed surface of a second fixed plate 32 of a rotor 10 and is electrically connected to each receiving electrode 18. Then, an output electrode 22 so formed in a ring to face the connection electrode 34 is provided on the surface of the second fixed plate 32. An electrostatic capacitance signal induced by the receiving electrode 18 by electrostatic connection between the output electrode 22 and the connection electrode 34 is outputted from the output electrode 22. The signal is compared with a reference voltage set in a detection circuit 36, thereby enabling the detection of displacement in the rotation of the rotary plate 10 based on the resulting phase difference.
