PURPOSE:To attain simple and quick processing by using a register, a coincidence detection circuit and an adder circuit and applying syndrome calculation of a data of a code polynomial and a data of generation polynomial. CONSTITUTION:Code polynomial registers 7-9, 16-18 inputting a data of the code polynomial by two terms from the high-order terms and generation polynomial registers 25-27, 34-36 inputting the data of the generation polynomial from the high-order term sequentially are provided. Then the registers 25-27, 34-36 are constituted by cyclic registers and whether or not the content of both registers at the high-order side is coincident is detected by a coincidence detection circuit 57. When the coincidence of the content is detected, the content of corresponding registers is subject to additions 37-39, 43-45, the content of the registers at the low-order terms for the code polynomial is shifted to the high-order side and the content of the registers 7, 8, 9 for the low-order term side for the code polynomial based on the result of addition is outputted as the result of syndrome calculation. |
