PURPOSE:To control Psacothea hilaris Pascoe, by cultivating a mold of Beauveria tenella, applying the mold together with a medium directly to the surface of mulberry field, using a microorganism of a natural enemy applicable in a growth period of silkworm wherein the use of an insecticide of agricultural chemical is forbidden in the mulberry field, CONSTITUTION:A mold of Beauveria tenella showing selectively parasitism in Psacothea hilaris Pascoe is cultivated in a medium of wheat bran, the culti vated mold of Beauveria tenella together with the medium is directly applied to the surface of the mulberry field, to control Psacothea hilaris Pascoe. The application of the mold is carried out by setting it to the emergence of imagoes of Psacothea hilaris Pascoe. In the culture of the mold, the mold of Beauveria tenella separated from Psacothea hilaris Pascoe is used, it is cultivated in a liquid medium of essence of dried chrysalises of silkworm at 25 deg.C for 3 days by shaking culture. Then, the mold is directly transferred to the medium of wheat bran, the mold is inoculated and cultivated at 25 deg.C for 10 days. |
