PURPOSE:To enable intake and exhaust valves or the like, being necessary for repair, to be easily inspected or replaced with no necessity for stopping an engine, by constituting the engine so that intake and exhaust pipes, respecively providing a valve unit, can be opened and closed by rotating each valve unit. CONSTITUTION:A valve unit 1 in an intake side, being provided in an intake pipe 23, normally closes an atmospheric communication hole 25 provided in the intake pipe 23. While a valve unit 2 in an exhaust side, being provided in an exhaust pipe 24, normally closes an atmospheric communication hole 26 provided in the exhaust pipe 24. And each valve unit 1, 2, being rotatably mounted respectively about each shaft 27, 28, is constituted such that each valve unit 1, 2, if it turns about 90 deg., closes a part respectively between intake and exhaust manifolds and the intake and exhaust pipes 23, 24 while opens the atmospheric communication holes 25, 26. In this way, intake and exhaust action of a cylinder 12 necessary for repair can be stopped by each valve unit 1, 2. Accordingly, accessories 13-15, provided in a cylinder head 11, can be easily inspected or replaced with no necessity for stopping an engine. |
