PURPOSE:To improve starting property of a rotary compressor by forcing compressed air to directly flow into an air bearing chamber located along the inner periphery of a center housing's compression side, from an operation chamber of the compression side through a gap between a rotary sleeve and housings of both sides. CONSTITUTION:A rotary compressor consists of a rotary sleeve 30 supported with free rotating movement inside a center housing 22, a rotor 10 rotating at an eccentric position inside the rotary sleeve 30, and a vane 16 inserted in the rotor 10 with free sliding movement. With the above consitution, prescribed gaps 30a, 30b are provided respectively between each of both sides of the rotary sleeve 30 and a front and back side housing 21, 23. And compressed air under high pressure is forced to flow in an air bearing chamber 40 along the inner periphery of the center housing (22)'s compression side, through the gaps 30a, 30b. This consequently increases bearing efficiency of the air bearing chamber 40, and prevents a direct contact between the outer periphery of the rotary sleeve 30 and the inner periphery of the center housing 22. |
