Installation for automatically feeding and removing, in series, components of a set of work stations using a programmed automaton, comprising a multiplicity of work stations A, B, C, D, E, means for storing and removing from storage 11, 12, means for transferring components arranged between the said storing and removing-from-storage means and the work stations A, B, C, D, E and a programmed server-actuator automation mounted so as to move along the storing and removing-from-storage means, carrying an arm for gripping components between a container 10 and the storing and removing-from-storage means 11, 12, characterised in that each storing and removing-from-storage means consists of two pairs of supports 50 for stacking and picking up components respectively arranged on either side of one and the same transfer means 60, and in that the gripper arm 14, 14% adapted to grasping sets of identical components previously stacked in a container 10 is mounted so as to move in a system of coordinates characterising the spatial location of each set.
