This device for locking a fuel-tank cap of a motor vehicle comprises an electric motor 10, the output shaft of which is fixed to an endless screw 12 cooperating with a gearwheel 13. This gearwheel 13 has a spiral groove 14 cooperating with means for actuating a finger 9 for immobilising the cap in rotation, between a position locking the cap on a tank access connection 1 and a retracted position. This device also comprises means for indicating the absence of the cap in the position closing off the connection 1. These means are controlled by a contactor with pusher 8, 16 actuated by a cam fixed to the cap. <IMAGE>
