PURPOSE:To obtain a video signal with an excellent SN ratio without any vertical contour blur by performing line noise cancellation processing and vertical contour correction processing in an area where the difference signal between a video signal and its 1H (one horizontal scanning period) delayed video signal is different in level. CONSTITUTION:A subtracter circuit 17 subtracts a delay luminance signal YD outputted by a de-emphasis circuit 15 out of an original luminance signal Y outputted by a de-emphasis circuit 7 to generate a difference signal DELTAY. A line noise canceling part 8 remove noise components of the original luminance signal Y from the original luminance signal Y supplied to a subtracter circuit 20. A vertical contour correcting part 16, on the other hand, supplies the difference signal DELTAY outputted by the subtracter circuit 17 to a coring circuit 21. The output difference signal of the coring circuit 21 is attenuated by an attenuation circuit 22 and then added to the luminance signal from the noise canceling circuit 10 by an adder circuit 11. Thus, a luminance signal whose vertical contour is corrected appears at an output terminal 21. |
