PURPOSE:To prevent a film positively from falling down and from waving regardless of the attitude of a film container by providing a X-ray photographing device with a mechanism which directly detects the number of remaining films in the container followed by the indication of the number of films which have not been exposed yet. CONSTITUTION:A lever 8 is arranged at a set position of a film container 1 in a chassis A so that the end of the lever is positioned at an opening 1a of the container 1. And a roller 7 is installed on the side end of the container 1 of the lever 8 while it is rotatable. A pin 8b is provided at the other end of the lever 8 allowing the pin 8b to be subjected to a counterclockwise torque force at all times as a result of a tension force by a tension coil spring 10 installed between a pin P and the end pin 8b. A gear 9 is secured to a shaft 8a and is in mesh with a gear 11 fixed on a shaft of an angle detector 12. The detecting angle of the angle detector 12 is designed to find out the number of remaining films 4'. That is, the lever 8 is allowed to act as a presser foot against the films 4 and 4' and simultaneously to serve as a film surface detector as well. And the detecting angle of the angle detector 12 allows the number of remaining films to be given.
