PURPOSE:To smooth the internal surface of an ink orifice and stabilize ink passage by expanding the diameter of a very small diameter tubular body and forming a printer rod with the integral formation of a continuous tapered length in the small diameter section and a large diameter section. CONSTITUTION:A punch 16 is made of a round stainless rod and its outer diameter is sufficiently larger than the inner diameter of an orifice 22 in a tubular body. In addition, its end constitutes a cylindrical tapered part 16a and its other end is held by a chuck 17. The chuck 17 is driven at a prearranged number of revolutions by a motor 18 installed on a base 14 so that the punch 17 may be stably retained without being eccentrically rotated. The punch 17 is enabled to approach or to be isolated from the tubular body. For this reason, e.g. a slide plate 19 carrying the motor 18 slides directly on the base 14. It is required so that the center axis of the tubular body and that of the punch 16 may have the same axial center. |
